Where does the place data come from? +
Acarta is community-driven. A starting catalogue is seeded from open sources and reviewed by hand, then users add new places, refine details, and upload their own photographs. Every change is versioned and every image keeps its photographer credit and license.
Does Acarta track my location in the background? +
No. Location is read only when you tap Check in, to confirm you're at the place. It is not logged in the background, sold, or shared with advertisers.
