   Palace and theatre of Aigai. Philip II's building program produced a fifteen-thousand-square-metre palace, a theatre and adjoining sanctuaries, modernizing Aigai as the Macedonian royal metropolis.

2. 1977-1978

   Restaurering

   Royal Tombs excavation. Manolis Andronikos uncovered the unlooted royal tombs in the Great Tumulus, including the tomb identified as Philip II's, with painted facades, grave goods and ceremonial armor intact.

3. 1993

   Installation

   Royal Tombs display. The Royal Tombs display opened as an underground protective shell shaped as a tumulus, integrating conservation environment and exhibition into the burial mound itself.
