    Rebuild

    The complex was destroyed by fire in 1670 and rebuilt by 1674.

  2. 1763

    Conversion

    The building was converted for the Governor General of Mozambique after the Jesuit expulsion.

  3. 1898

    Conversion

    The complex ceased to be the Governor General's seat when the colonial capital moved to Lourenço Marques, now Maputo.
