- 1608
The chancel was given a flat ceiling with painted decoration, and the chancel screen was reworked at the same time. The flat ceiling closed off the open roof structure above the chancel and changed how the east end read from the nave.

Werner Olsen extended the nave westward with a log-built addition carrying a gallery. The new part was framed in horizontal logs rather than in staves, so the church gained length in a construction different from the one it began with.
- 1663-1664
Werner Olsen built cross arms on both long sides and raised a roof turret over the crossing, turning the church cruciform. A sacristy was added on the north side, the ambulatory around the church was taken down, and larger windows were cut…

The flat seventeenth-century ceiling was taken out of the nave, so that the roof structure over the church room stood open again. The removal undid one of the seventeenth-century alterations and gave the nave back its full height.
