Renovation
The church was replastered and given a white rendered finish. The decoration around the tower portal, with urns and mouldings, probably dates from the same work and set the entrance off against the new white wall surface.

The interior was renovated and repainted. The painted drapery behind the pulpit probably belongs to this work, and several of the fittings carry a paint layer dated to the same year, so the repainting reached both the wall surfaces and the…

Renovation
The urn with a burning flame that crowned the lantern was taken down and replaced by a cross. The change altered the finish of the tower from a classicising urn to a Christian symbol.

Restoration
The church was restored. There was a wish from the antiquarian side to bring back the flaming urn on the lantern, but the cross stayed in place and the tower kept the finish it had been given in 1897.
