A new open octagonal lantern was set on top of the existing square one. The tower gained a further stage above the one already there and its silhouette grew taller, while the work touched only the topmost part of the building.

The space beneath the gallery was built in, enclosing the floor area under the existing structure. The gallery itself was left as it stood, and the work was limited to the level below it rather than to the church room as a whole.

A window in the apse that had earlier been walled up was opened again, bringing daylight back to the east end of the church. The organ was renovated during the same campaign, the work on the instrument carried out by Marcussen & Søn.
