The Kalan Mosque was rebuilt as the Shaybanid-era congregational mosque on the foundations of the older Karakhanid prayer hall.
- 1535-1536
The Mir-i-Arab Madrasah was built opposite the mosque, completing the paired-monument kosh composition that defines the square.
